This high quality birds ring is ideal for multiple birds , We offer a wide variety of Bird Identification Bands ranging in size from 2.5 and above as request , made from Plastic or Elastic Bands in a variety of sizes.

A new concept of elastic rings which can easily be put over the leg of a bird, using the specifically manufactured E-Z Ringing Gun.

Thanks to the use of highly elastic material, the rings can expand to up to 5 times their original size.

Benefits :

  • It is possible to ring newborn birds when they are just a few days old.
  • The high rate of elasticity allows the ring to adjust to the leg of a bird as the bird grows. Hence, the necessity to ring a bird several times, to prevent the ring from growing into the leg itself,is significantly reduced (not eliminated).
  • The limited height of the rings makes it possible to combine several colours of rings, one above the other, greatly expanding the options for marking.
  • The rings are available as a series of bright colours.

This new concept clearly provides professional bird breeders with nothing but benefits!

Ring Colors :

5 Ring Colors for 4,5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 mm: yellow / green / red / violet / blue

8 Ring Colors for 3 mm: yellow / green / red / violet / blue /orange / white / black

Why use bird leg rings?

  • It can be hard to tell birds apart. Leg bands make it easy.
  • Keep track of how old your birds are.
  • Keep track of what birds are related.
  • Identify your breeding pairs.
  • Identify males and females in breeds where both look similar.

What is a good bird leg banding system to use to identify birds?

Left leg - year band showing the year of birth. Easily identify younger from older birds.

Right leg - colored leg band to identify bird family groups and with a number to identify individuals

Should you use open split bands or closed bands?

  • Open split bands are good for identification of birds. They can be applied at any time on young or old birds and are designed to be removed.
  • Closed bands are good for a permanent record such as showing the year of birth.
  • Closed bands they can only be applied on young birds at around 9 days old and are not designed to be removed.

Why use a year band?

  • The year band colours are based on YEAR with a six year rotation.
  • Year 2013 Black, 2014 Green, year 2015 Purple, year 2016 Gold, year 2017 Blue, year 2018 Red.
  • Other countries use different sets of colours for the same purpose.
  • The single colour helps to easily recognize different age groups of birds from a distance by the colour of the band.
  • The breeder benefits as they can easily determine younger from older birds. A buyer benefits as they know the age of the birds that they are purchasing.

How can bird leg rings improve the fertility of your birds?

  • Leg bands will not make your birds more fertile but will help you to identify the most prolific and reliable birds for breeding.
  • By banding the babies you will know what birds are related and who the parents are.
  • If there are any outstanding birds you will know what families to breed from next year.

What is the difference between a bird ring and a bird band?

  • A bird "ring" and a bird "band" are the same item.
  • Known as bird rings in the united kingdom and Europe.
  • Known as bird bands in the united states and other countries.

Who buys bird leg bands?

  • Bird keepers.
  • Bird breeders.
  • Bird clubs.
  • Bird dealers.
  • Biologists.
  • Pet shops.
  • Poultry farmers.
  • Wildlife researchers.
